Why should you get renter’s insurance and how do you choose the right policy? Well for one thing, I know that the first time I really thought about insurance was the first time I bought a car, and that was because the law made me. Though renter’s insurance is not required usually, it is something I will tell you is highly recommended. It not only protects your personal items, but can be very helpful in securing temporary housing and protection in terms of liability. This means that renter’s insurance can help with medical expenses for people on your property or even a lawyer if you happen to be sued by someone who is hurt on your property. So you realize that you need renter’s insurance, but how do you choose the best policy?

First of all, you need to determine the dollar amount you need in terms of your renter’s insurance coverage. It is actually the primary factor in the cost of your coverage. Rather than determining an amount in terms of value for each thing you own, you will come up with a fixed price for all of your possessions as a whole. So, the more the coverage you need to purchase, the more you will be charged for your policy.

Another factor in how much your renter’s insurance will cost is the deductible. This is the amount you are willing to pay out of pocket before the renter’s insurance kicks in. Coverage is subject to the deductible unless it is a liability insurance situation. The more money you are willing to pay out of pocket, the less your policy is likely to cost you since the company will be responsible for a lesser amount of your possessions.

Location and previous claims will also affect the cost of your renter’s insurance. If you are renting in an area that has a lot of thefts, the insurance company will likely charge you more for the policy. Also, if you are the neighbors have a large number of claims, that could affect your policy price as well.

You may not initially think that you really need renter’s insurance. You might think your possessions aren’t worth enough or that you are not worried about losing what little you have. However, you must take into account the fact that many renters insurance policies cover liability as well. Remember, just like with any other insurance policy you would get, you should always check with an agent on what you will benefit from the most.

By: Christopher Luck

As we mentioned in previous article, many corporations offer competitive packages, and that’s even a strategy in hiring and retaining employees. These competitive packages include group insurance to plans that provide individual retirement accounts or traditional registered pension plans, etc. In this article, we will discuss the benefits of group insurance Plan.

1. Benefits for employers

a) The insurance provided by company helps to reduce turnover, attract a higher class of employee and employees loyalty.
b) Provides for continuity of coverage of any new employees had previous coverage, making the employer more competitive in the labor market.
c) Creates a greater degree of employee security and efficiency.
d) Employers have a obligation to provide affordable employee protection.
e) Premium is easy to project and to adjust.
f) It is a deductible expense.

2. Benefits for employees

a) Employees received free insurance coverage without paying any premium when funded by the employer.
b) Do not require evidence of insurability on the larger plans.
c) Provide for employee security for employees dependents in the event of death, disability or critical illness.
d) Life insurance in the group insurance can be carried over to a new group policy or individual plan upon termination.

Please note that some companies have combined contribution and non contribution plan depending of seniority of each employee. This type of plan automatically enroll new hired employee and junior employees( less 3 years of seniority) into contribution plan and he or she requires to pay for portion of premium from 10% t0 30% or more before they can enroll into non contribution plan usually with seniority of 3 years or more.

I hope this information will help. If you need more information, you can read the complete series of the above subject at my home page:

By: Kyle J Norton

Insurance is a product that is purchased with the objective of ensuring financial security in case of any unforeseeable or disaster occurring. Hence, it is important to make sure that the insurance one has is the right type and the amount of insurance coverage is sufficient.

Listed below are some common insurance-related mistakes committed by consumers.

1.	Insufficient shopping: There are several companies in the market offering the same product at different rates. However, consumers do not bother to shop around. Hence, many of them end up paying high premiums on their insurance. This can be avoided by obtaining insurance quotes from different companies and comparing their offers.

2.	Comparing rates: One common mistake committed by people, who shop around, is to decide on an insurance provider by comparing rates. This is really insufficient as many insurance companies provide worst customer service when it comes to insurance claims. It is important to review the ratings offered by third-party insurance rating companies to decide whether customers are satisfied with a company or not.

3.	Not knowing the policy: Many customers do not even glance at their policy brochure. It is important to know what all is included in the policy and what all is excluded from the policy.

4.	Comparing agents: This is another common mistake committed by many consumers. They tend to believe each and every insurance agent who knocks at their doors. One should check the license of an agent so as to ensure whether he is registered or not so as to avoid any possible frauds. Next thing to ask an insurance agent is for referrals. By this, one can evaluate the performance and credibility of the agent. Finally, one should never forget to get the policy explained completely from the agent.

By: Pauline Go

Self employed insurance – whether medical or dental – is rarely cheap, at least when compared to employer-provided insurance plans. When starting a new small business or going out on your own, arranging for proper dental care and health care is a very important part of the process. Since solo professionals already have so much to think about and so many different hats to wear, this is often an overlooked area. Unfortunately, not making proper plans in the early stages can be very detrimental.

Why do so many small businesses fail every year? There are a lot of reasons, but perhaps the most important and most common is related to cash flow problems. And one of the major reasons behind cash flow failure or slow down is an inability to increase income over time. To take this one step further, I am sure you can imagine a number of reasons it could become difficult to increase income in a small business or a self employed operation.

Imagine that you are a self employed professional who is solely responsible for your ability to earn a living for you and to bring home the bacon to your family. Maybe you are a dentist. Well, what happens if you suddenly become very sick or temporarily disabled? Without you out on the front lines of your business, the income flow is going to slow down or come to a complete stop. Your ability to recover from an illness quickly is paramount to your success in a self employed venture.

Health insurance should not be your only area of concern. Dental care is very important as well as you will want to plan accordingly to care for your teeth – a very important component in any insurance coverage plan for the self-employed. Although there are a number of important factors to consider which may or may not make you a good candidate, most small business owners should secure quality health insurance, dental insurance, and even vision coverage if possible.

When you start looking at your options, use the World Wide Web first to make your research process easy and focused. Steer clear of websites that ask you for lots of personal information upfront and stick to focused articles that help you make sense of the rather confusing insurance terrain. With so many concepts to think about (HSA, Liability, Disability, Term Life, etc.) you will want to consult with experts before visiting a provider and researching prices and getting quotes.

By: Jason Clegg

For the majority of car owners, there comes a time when general automobile insurance simply does not meet their needs. As important and necessary it is to have full coverage in most situations, the fact of the matter is that there are circumstances that warrant a more temporary solution. Many of us have faced the difficult decision of whether to pay the full insurance costs or to simply take the risk of not insuring a vehicle for a period of time.

Rather than fret about making this kind of decision, a number of auto insurance companies have introduced an alternative insurance product to the market. This type of temporary insurance coverage is referred to as short term car insurance.

Temporary automobile insurance was created to fill the gap in situations that do not quite warrant a full policy to cover a vehicle. One of the most common of these types of circumstances happens while on vacation. If you do not have a current insurance policy that covers rentals while on vacation, the temporary auto insurance policy may be the perfect fit.

A rental vehicle is one of the last places that you don’t want proper coverage. On vacation you are often driving on unfamiliar terrain in an unfamiliar vehicle. This typically won’t add up to the highest probabilities of safety. Rather than take the personal liability for both the rental vehicle and the other driver’s car in an accident, you can safely insure yourself for the duration of your vacation.

Temporary coverage is exactly as it sounds, temporary. You can cover your liability for whatever duration you need, and not go through the hassle of trying to increase your current policy or apply for a new policy.

Another circumstance in which temporary car insurance is very helpful is during the new car buying process. During this period you may find yourself searching for the best auto insurance policy that you can. Rather than waiting until you find the right policy to purchase your car, you can make the decision on your own time.

Temporary auto insurance allows you to cover your new vehicle while you are searching for a more permanent policy. Because you have proof of insurance, you will be able to register your vehicle with the state and also legally drive the vehicle on the road. And let’s face it, if you just purchased a new vehicle, you are going to drive it.

By: Edward T. Richards

If you are a regular traveler you may already have realized that there are many possible risks involved and if you purchase travelers car insurance for every trip that you make you will not only waste time and money as well as effort, but also miss out on purchasing an annual travel insurance plan that will be a lot cheaper.

Nevertheless, before buying the insurance, you should be conscious of a few basics that you should use to choose the proper insurance policy. You will need to follow certain guidelines that will assist car owners to comprehend the insurance needs of their vehicles.

Insurance coverage varies from state to state, and therefore you will need to know which the best insurance is for your traveling needs. It is typical to get insurance that will cover for wound or damage that the driver causes to others, the injuries to the motorists plus injuries and damages caused by uninsured motorists and lastly, it should cover damage or theft of your car.

The significance of getting a car insurance from a good insurance company cannot be overemphasized as or else you may end up remitting hundreds of dollars more than is necessary each year. And, inexpensive insurance plan also does not warranty that your insurance cover is the best as the quotes given may lack in certain essential features.

As a result, you should contrast insurance premiums, coverage offered, review coverage request procedures, and compare price breaks that are available. Also, it will be a good thought to also compare different car insurance organizations.

Short Term Car Insurance For A Short Term

There are many occasions when drivers may need a short term car insurance when purchasing the traditional long term cover basically is not necessary. This insurance is a fast and simple process to suite your immediate needs at the time. Have you ever required to add a friend to your car insurance for a day or two? Or borrow someone else’s vehicle? A separate insurance policy allows you to cover additional drivers on your car insurance exclusive of putting your main car insurance at risk.

Short term car insurance is a way out to situations where you need insurance to cover a driver or car for either a day, a week or per month. You could buy it for only a short period of time, without the wish to enter into a long-term policy or to have to go through lengthy paperwork, or extra costs, just to make a minor change to you all ready existing policy.

By: Cindy Heller

If you don’t understand the terms that are used by car insurance companies when you make an auto insurance comparison, you may wind up spending more than you need to or even worse, not getting the coverage that you really need. It’s easy to get confused when shopping for cheap car insurance rates because the language used by auto insurers is very unique and it’s easy to forget what each term means. So here is a general explanation of car insurance terms that you can use the next time you compare car insurance prices.

* Comprehensive Coverage – This covers you for any damage to your vehicle that occurs as a result of anything other than an accident with another vehicle. For instance, it could include fire, flood, theft, and so on.

* Bodily Injury And Liability – This coverage is very important as it provides for injury damage to others in the case of claims that are files against you if you are involved in a car wreck. It also provides for legal fees in defense as well. There are usually two figures that are used in this type of coverage, one for the maximum that will be paid per person per accident, and the other for the total amount for all persons injured in the same accident.

* Collision Coverage – This is what is paid to either repair or replace your vehicle if it is involved in an accident with another vehicle or a fixed object.

* Personal Injury Protection (NO Fault) – In states that support this type of coverage, it pays for most expenses incurred, medical and otherwise, for those that are in your vehicle and also any pedestrians that may be hurt by an accident that you are involved in whether or not it was your fault.

* Liability Coverage – This pays for any damage done by your vehicle to someone else’s property including their car, house, lawn, etc. It’s most often invoked when someone files a claim against you to repair their vehicle if the accident was your fault.

* Uninsured Motorist – This is coverage that pays for your injuries and property damage even if the other person involved in the accident did not have sufficient insurance coverage. This can be very important as many people are driving around without adequate insurance, or no insurance at all, so there is a need to take steps to protect yourself in that event.

There are other options that can be considered when getting an auto insurance policy including car rental, that pays a certain amount for you to have a rental car to use while your car is being repaired as a result of an accident. Also towing coverage can be put on a car insurance policy to cover having your car towed if it breaks down. Just check to be sure that you don’t already have this kind of coverage through AAA or a similar type of auto association.

If you understand the insurance terms better you can usually make a btter informed decision about the coverage you need when you compare car insurance prices.

By: Jim Johnson

Have you ever found the need to add someone to your existing insurance policy for a few days? Have you had the need to borrow someone else’s car? In cases like this you need to have a short term car insurance to cover you or someone else as additional drivers on your vehicle for a few days. Doing so will not affect the no-claims bonus you are aiming for on your main car, therefore minimizing the risks. A short term insurance provides a quick coverage when you need it most and of course at a especially discounted price.

A short term car insurance is best for adding temporary drivers to your main car. It can be applied especially when you have visitors from overseas and you need to provide them with a car as a means of transportation. So therefore, short term car insurance also is great for adding temporary additional cars to your policy. It can also be beneficial for unaccompanied vehicle demonstrations or use of courtesy cars. If you will be needing to lend your car to a relative or a friend, you will also need to file for a short term car insurance. In many instances, most college kids who are returning home for term breaks requests their parents to grant them permission to drive their mom’s or dad’s cars around while on vacation. A short term car insurance can, in some circumstances, provide a solution to many parents’ dilemma of getting their teenage or college kids some form of insurance coverage while they are out driving their parents cars.

In the UK, availing of a short term car insurance is easy provided that you have a standard UK license. The insurance period most insurance companies provide will range from 1 to 28 days for short term insurance coverage. Secondary drivers however will need to be over 24 years of age to qualify for this type of insurance.

Short term car insurance also offers fast and easy payment schemes (online) to cater to your immediate needs. Since almost all insurance providers now have a 24 hour hotline, you can either call one of their agents or submit an application online to facilitate the quick granting of your temporary insurance.

Cancellation of the policy is easy as well. Most insurance providers just ask for a written cancellation request from the policy holder and the return of the motor receipt. After the documents are received then the cancellation will take effect. Refund procedures may vary depending on the policies of each insurance company .

By: Scott Nichols

Before you start shopping around for auto insurance, you should get a handle on some of the common car insurance terms. In all reality, the more you know about car insurance, the better chance you’ll have at finding the perfect coverage for your vehicle. Sure, you’d love to think that all companies would be upfront and honest with you about what you need and what you don’t need. But come on, what company doesn’t want to make some profit? This is why having the basic knowledge when it comes to car insurance can make all the difference when it comes to your auto coverage. Read on to learn some common auto insurance terms and then see how much money you can save!

Absolute Liability

This is liability without fault, also known as liability without regard to fault or strict liability. You may see this pop up when something considered contrary to public policy happens, even though the event wasn’t intentional.

Liability Insurance

In a nutshell, liability insurance is risk transference. Not only does give you protection against loss that arise from third parties, it covers your legal liability from injures to other people or their property.

Collision Insurance

This type of insurance is optional. Collision insurance provides coverage for the insured’s vehicle, subject to a deductible, that is involved in an accident. Basically, this covers you whether the accident was your fault or not.

Deductible

Also known as excess, this is the amount you agree to pay toward the total amount of an insured loss, whether it is per claim or per accident. Usually a fixed rate, the deductible must be paid before the policy benefits can be applied to a claim.

Uninsured and/or Underinsured Coverage

This type of insurance is great protection for you and your family if you happen to be hit by someone without insurance coverage. Having uninsured or underinsured coverage allows you and your family’s bodily injury to be paid for.

Comprehensive Coverage

Comprehensive insurance covers your vehicle in case of non-collision related incidents such as fire, theft, weather, impact with animals and vandalism.

Gap Insurance

This insurance is good for people who have just purchased a new vehicle. In a nutshell, new cars depreciate right after leaving the dealership lot. Gap insurance covers the difference between what an insurance company says your car’s worth and what you would actually owe on the vehicle.

Gap insurance usually only covers theft and accidents, but that can vary depending on the insurance policy. You can also purchase gap insurance from the dealership. However, you can expect to pay even higher premiums.

Property Damage Coverage

This covers any damage you may cause to another’s vehicle. Basically, if you cause it, you’re covered.

Claim

This is your request for reimbursement concerning a loss covered by your auto insurance policy.

Full Coverage

Actually, full coverage isn’t really what it sounds like. Technically, full coverage is a combination of collision and comprehensive coverage, meaning that your car’s physical damage is covered.

Secondary Driver

Also known as an occasional driver, this person is covered for driving the insured vehicle. However, this coverage does not mean that they’re the primary driver.

Shop Around To Find Cheap Auto Insurance

Familiarizing yourself with the above common car insurance terms will result in you making a wise decision when it comes to your auto coverage. Take your time and shop around before committing to a provider and you will be find the cheapest auto insurance company that will still meet your coverage needs.

The above terms are just the ones most frequently talked about or that affect the majority of drivers on the road. There are more common car insurance terms, but they are mainly state specific. The best way to find out what’s required in your state is by visiting your local DMV’s website.

By: James J. Robinson
